These stagewise recipes are meant to help your diet rehabilitation after Bariatric Surgery.

STAGE – 1 (From Day 2 to Day 9 after surgery) – CLEAR LIQUID

Lemon Coriander Soup

Ingredients:

  • coriander leaves 2 tsp
  • Spring onion 1 (chopped)
  • Ginger-Garlic paste ½ tsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp.
  • Vegetable stock 1 cup.
  • Black pepper a pinch
  • Salt to taste

Method:

Prepare the vegetables stock (recipe 2).put into the pan and bring it to boil.

Add the coriander leaves, lemon juice, salt and black pepper and mix well. Turn off the flame. Serve the soup.

Protein 5.1 gm, Fat 0.6gm, Cho 26.6gm, Energy 145Kcal

STAGE – 2 (for one week after stage 1) – THICK LIQUID

Red Health Booster

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • segments of 1 orange
  • a few drops lemon juice ½& tsp honey
  • Salt and black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste crushed ice to serve

Method:

Mix the tomatoes, carrot, orange, lemon juice, honey and ½ cup of water and blend in a blender & strain the juice.

Add salt and pepper. Serve chilled with crushed ice.

Protein 1.4 gm, Fat 0.3 gm, Cho 14.3 gm, Energy 66Kcal

STAGE -3 (for two weeks after stage 2) – PUREE DIET

Mung Bean Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked moong beans
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • peeled & smashed
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1/3 cup water

Method:

Add moong beans in food processor & grind it fine.

Mix the bean paste again in the food processor and add lemon juice, garlic, and sea salt. Blend again for a minute.

Add water. Blend, blend, blend until the hummus is smooth and light, aerated and creamy.

Taste, and adjust as per your taste & add more lemon juice or salt, if needed. It’s great with toasted whole wheat pita chips.

STAGE – 4 (for one month after stage 3) – SOFT DIET

Jhatpat Paneer

Ingredients:

  • Paneer Cubes – 100 grams
  • Turmeric/haldi Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chili/lal mirch Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Mango/amchur Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to Taste
  • Zeera (cumin) Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Black Pepper/Kali Mirch – 1/4 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi – 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 Tsp

Method:

In a bowl, mix turmeric, red chili powder, zeera powder and dry mango powder. Add the paneer cubes in this marinate and let it stay for about 10-15 minutes.

In a non-stick pan, heat the oil, tip over the paneer marinate mixture into the oil. Fry for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.

Add the crushed kasoori methi and black pepper. Mix Well and serve hot.

Stage 5 will be Normal Diet
